Álvaro Cabeza

I’m the Principal and Partner at Boult’s Madrid office. I have wide experience across intellectual property, and was a general practice lawyer prior to entering the industry, so I offer clients a great breadth and depth of expertise.

During my career, I have handled all aspects of trade marks, patent and design portfolios, with clients ranging from entrepreneurs to multinationals. My broad experience includes advising on the availability of trade marks, building global portfolios and negotiating settlements, having participated over the years in professional organisations such as INTA, AIPPI, ECTA, PTMG and CITMA.

My experience in trade mark and patent litigation covers several Spanish jurisdictions, and I have been a member of the Bars of Madrid, Vizcaya, Álava and Granada. I am well practiced in coordinating cases before foreign registries and courts.

At Boult, my main focus is on the management side and in supervising the day-to-day work of my colleagues. Our clients span across a wide range of industries. We are regularly in contact with everyone at the London office, working on the cases referred to us, and enjoy a fantastic relationship with them.

We are a growing and ambitious team with plans to expand our litigation practice in the domestic market in Spain. We are active members of the Spanish Fashion Law Group, writing articles and speaking on webinars and at events. We are also members of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain and were delighted to be invited to give a seminar on IP, with further ones planned in the future.
